This model was actually an unauthorized copy of the Roland RS-202, which is why we instantly fell in love with its sound. This is a simple instrument - there are brass, strings 1 and strings 2, with the ability to select which of these sounds is played over the lower and upper sections of the keyboard. There's vibrato, a little bit of amplitude envelope control and the most valuable feature of them all... the ensemble effect. Modes 1, 2 and off. There's something really magical about this effect - it's incredibly rich and turns what would otherwise be a relatively unimpressive thin sound into a beautiful warm swirling analog string / brass patch.  So, while there are much more flexible synths out there, most of them can't reproduce the unique sounds of this unit.
