This unit was fully tested and sounds great and works fine with the following very minor exceptions that shouldn’t be a deterrent to most (and that probably wouldn’t be noticed or reported by most sellers these days who sell products they dont test and/or know little about): the 4 button is a bit stuck/recessed. It can still be activated simply by pushing it. When selecting another button after selecting this 4 button, you may have to push that next button twice for it to register. The backlight works but seems pretty dim - they are normally burned out after all these years. And finally, the volume knob jiggles just slightly. These are easy things to fix but take some time. Normally, we'd fix them ourselves, but we cant justify paying our tech to work on relatively low value items like this, so we're selling it the way it is.

This 2 space rack unit is a multitimbral sound module loaded with great sampled sounds. Kurzweil always excelled at sample playback technology and this piece of equipment is another indication of this. This was a much more affordable solution to buying the K250 which apparently offered some of the same sounds. If you like the K250 sounds or the K1000 sounds, you should be very happy with these as well. If you want some good sounds, these even sound good by todays standards. This is apparently the upgraded version of the Kurzweil PX Plus which contained all the sounds of the expanded K1000, the K1000SE/EXT and more. The sounds in this unit sound much better than those in the Emu Proteus, one of its contemporaries.
