Roland Jupiter-4 for sale. Fully Professionally Serviced.
This unit had been in use by our customer until we bought it. It had been serviced by another tech in the recent past, but we still had to pay our tech for the 15 hours of highly skilled labor required to get it up to our standards (including fixing a problem the previous tech didn't fix right), and now it's ready for its next happy home. As you can see from the pics, it appears as though someone replaced the original wooden sides with new ones.
Someone previously replaced a bunch of the original screws with some strange ones, so we had to waste an hour disassembling things and putting in new screws of the right type. Techs, please don't do this! Don't misplace the originals / order the right screws when you do so you don't make more work for the next tech who's got higher standards.
This is an excellent analog synth. It's one of the first polyphonic synths and has a similar sound to the Roland System 100 and SH series synths. It has most of the features you'd expect of a polysynth but its overall sound quality is terrific.
Warm, fat vintage sound - unison mode allows stacking of 4 voices per key and sounds huge. Ensemble (chorus) circuit and sweet analog filter. User programmable. Cool arpeggiator w/ random mode. LFO goes to high frequency for FM type sounds. The JP4 is great for pads, basses, noises, leads and all other types of analog sounds. Famous users include: 808 State, Vince Clarke, Depeche Mode, Thomas Dolby, Human League, Brian Kehew and Roger Manning of The Moog Cookbook, Kitaro, Ruediger Lorenz, Masterworks, Meat Beat Manifesto, Neruonium, Gary Numan, Elizabeth Parker of BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Nick Rhodes, Tim Souster, Spoons, Tangerine Dream, Tears for Fears, Tomita, Trans X, St. Etienne, Steve Winwood, Stevie Wonder, Vangelis, Yaz and more.
